For almost 650 years, viticulture has been practiced on the Csaterberg over an area of 48 hectares. The soil conditions favor varieties such as Welschriesling, Weißburgunder, Riesling-Sylvaner, Rheinriesling, as well as red wine varieties Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt.
The wine shop in the Gasthof zum Weinberg is considered a flagship and the center of all activities related to wine.
For many winemakers, viticulture is a secondary occupation. However, the integration into the wine idyll, the wine-growing region of Southern Burgenland, has changed the requirements. Ongoing education and the marketing of quality wines lead many businesses back to their roots and open up perspectives for viticulture beyond mere hobby.
