This brass ensemble from the ranks of the world-famous Vienna Symphony Orchestra has a penchant for crossover projects. The musical director and arranger Flip Philipp shares about his project: “Musical crossovers have always been a challenge for me. After I heard Tchaikovsky's 'Nutcracker Suite' in a big band arrangement by Duke Ellington and had also played Verdi's Aida every evening in the orchestra pit of the Festival House Bregenz, the idea came to me to apply this approach, which I borrowed from 'Duke', to works by Strauss, Verdi, Puccini, etc.
