To conclude the exhibition on the work of Kaitna Smetana, we cordially invite you to the closing event at the Architekturgalerie RAUMBURGENLAND contemporary.
Program
13:00 Closing of the exhibition "Living Village Development - Retrospective Kaitna Smetana"
Many villages and their surrounding landscapes in Burgenland continue to benefit from the decades-long urban planning activities of Wolfgang Kaitna and Kurt Smetana. Through their commitment, formative village structures – such as the closed barn bands in Donnerskirchen and Purbach – have been preserved, which significantly contribute to the region's identity today. The work of Kaitna Smetana ranges from urban planning and renovations to new constructions and publications, exemplifying how careful spatial and local planning can work. The retrospective provides an overview of the Burgenland creations of the architects and illustrates from today’s perspective the long-term impact of committed projects on villages and landscapes.
17:00 Lichtsekunden - Ambient Jazz Trio (Free Donation)
With their trio Lichtsekunden, Markus Bratusa (guitar), Joe Gridl (bass), and Sebastian Felber (drums) take their listeners on a meditative, captivating auditory journey between jazz approach and ambient soundscapes. The band’s name not only represents a unit of distance but also the magical musical moments in which time stands still and yet flies by. Two studio albums of the Austrian trio, “World Lines” (2023) and “Inseparable” (2024), have already been released. A third is currently in the works and is expected to be released in 2026.
