“Let your song of praise resound, rejoice in the Lord, the mighty God,” proclaim the heavenly hosts in the “Creation,” “Hurrah, let us be joyful and hooray, hooray, hooray, shout with all our might,” rejoices the wine-inebriated rural folk in the “Seasons”: In Joseph Haydn's works, singing is a joyfully fulfilled commandment – and thus for the first time, a large choral festival will unite hundreds of voices in and around the Esterhazy Palace in a workshop and various concerts. The audience will be delighted in many styles and according to various tastes with the most immediate, physical form of music-making that has existed since time immemorial: singing.
